Is Marijuna a medicine? Is it worthy of the title Medical Marijuana? Well scientific study of the CBD (Cannabinoid) has led to 2 FDA approved pills containing this ingredient. Not enough clinical trials have taken place on a large enough scale to show that the benefits outweigh the risks but hello, have you not seen the contradictions and warnings on the innocent paracetamol leaflet!? And due to cannabis being use to ease the pain and mental suffering caused by some of the most serious and life threatening diseases, it comes as no surprise that it is now legal in some states and countries. Hopefully the rest of the world will get over the stigma attached to it and fall in line soon. Lets take a look at the 2 different types of medical marijuana, what ailments can be eased by using marijuana and why.

In the 80’s the FDA approve synthetic version of THC (Tetrahydracannibol) as a symptomatic relief for Chemo patients and AIDs sufferers.
Nerve pain relief
Trials have show that it competes and sometimes excelled in relieving pain in hands and feet caused by Diabetes, AIDS, Spinal Chord injury and other ailments compared to standard medication.
MS – Mutliple Schlerosis
Patients in more that 20 countries are being prescribed Sativex which is an oral spray containing THC & CBD to relieve the muscle spasms and stiffness associated with MS that sometimes affect walking and sleep
Epilepsy
During trials seizures were reduced by sufferers from Epilepsy caused by Davet Syndrome and Lenauds Gastaut Syndome which are harder to control with current medications
Anxiety
This is an interesting area, as THC can actually make this condition worse making the brain more paranoid, while CBD has the opposite effect, so you need to make sure you are using the right type of marijuana.
